The new patented Fusion Technology by Safilens is a revolutionary milestone in the contact lens world.
Anatomically the contact of two surfaces creates an interface; the task of mucomimetic tear substitutes is to provide hydratation, lubrication and volume to natural tear film between interfaces.
The contact lens artificially adds two more interfaces (front and back curve) which need hydratation like the contact lens itself; more and more often these added interfaces unbalance the need and the production of tear film leading to discomfort, hyperosmolarity, etc.
The new concept is to re-establish the best hydratation and lubrication to the interfaces for a long-lasting comfort.
According to this concept Safilens studied the interaction of the two most successfull natural polymers used in the dry-eye: Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Thamarynd-Seeds Polysaccharyde (TSP) and created a co-polymer that enhances the properties of the two components thanks to the revolutionary Fusion Technology.
The new co-polymer is merged in the structure of the contact lens providing the best possible hydratation and lubrication to the interfaces involved in the contact lens wear.
